Jefferson Township High School Map: Unlocking Early Childhood Education Opportunities

The Jefferson Township Board of Education has exciting news for families with young children residing within the district. Thanks to additional NJDOE Preschool Expansion Aid (PEA) funding, the district will be offering full-day public pre-K programs to more families in the area. This expansion is made possible by a grant award that enables the further growth of preschool services for three- and four-year-old children.

To take advantage of this opportunity, interested parents can visit the Preschool website at for more information on the program's details and timelines. The full-day pre-K program will be available five days a week, with priority given to students who meet specific criteria.

Families residing in Lake Hopatcong or Cozy Lake School areas will have access to the program through Briggs School, while those living in Oak Ridge will attend Cozy Lake School. To ensure fair and equal opportunities for all, a lottery system will be used to select students who are not currently enrolled in the district's preschool program. This means that children who meet the eligibility criteria and apply by May 15, 2023, will have an equal chance of being selected for the program.

Children must be three or four years old before October and reside within Jefferson Township to be eligible for the program. The good news is that this funding allows our district to provide a full-day preschool program at no cost to parents, making early childhood education more accessible to all families.
